Permatex PermaShield Fuel Resistant Gasket Dressing & Flange Sealant
Specially formulated for superior fluid resistance, this polyester urethane based gasketing compound withstands extreme temperature changes without hardening. Its non-setting, non-hardening character remains tacky even with rapid changes in temperature, enabling repeated assembly and disassembly of parts. Suitable as either a gasket maker or dressing, PermaShield™ seals surface imperfections between metal parts and is ideal in high performance applications. With an operating temperature range of -60° to 500°F (-50° to 260°C), this compound resists common engine fluids, including oil, gasoline, ethanol, water and anti-freeze and prevents contamination from moisture and dust.
Suggested Applications: Axle assemblies, hydraulic parts, differential covers, oil pans (cast), water pumps, bearing caps/brackets, gearboxes, hydraulic equipment covers, intake manifold gaskets, and valve cover gaskets.
® PermaShield™ Fuel Resistant Gasket Sealant and
Flange Sealant is a non-setting and non-hardening gel sealant
designed for use with all pre-cut gaskets, including head
gaskets and as a sealant for machined flanges. The product
has a temperature range of -60F to 500F(-50C to 260C), is
non-running and resists automotive fluids including all
industrial fuels, oils, water/glycol mixtures, petroleum and
synthetic lubricating oils, gasoline, diesel fuels,
gasoline/alcohol mixtures and fluorocarbon refrigerants.
Permatex PermaShield™ Fuel Resistant Gasket Dressing
and Flange Dressing can be used to seal machined joint faces
and threaded parts. PermaShield™ exhibits excellent
adhesive properties making the product acceptable for high

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
1. Provide adequate ventilation.
2. Surfaces should be free of oil, dirt and grease. Clean
flange surfaces with Permatex Brake and Parts
3. Apply a thin film or bead to both surfaces.
4. Allow solvent to completely evaporate. Acetone/solvent
odor will no longer exist when dry.
5. Assemble parts.
6. Recheck torque after 10 minutes.
1. Remove residues of PermaShield with acetone.
2. Clean hands with Permatex brand hand cleaners.
