PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Permatex Black Rubber Sealant is a black, oil resistant
sealant that may be used as a coating.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
1. Surfaces to be coated must be free of moisture, dirt,
grease or scale.
2. Apply Black Rubber Sealant to both surfaces.
3. Allow to dry until the adhesive is tacky but will no longer
stick to fingers (about 5 – 10 minutes).
4. Join surfaces to be bonded and press or roll together.
Allow to dry for 1 – 2 hours before applying any stress.
FOR CLEANUP
Clean up uncured material with acetone. Cured material can
be softened with acetone and then removed mechanically.

TYPICAL CURING PERFORMANCE
Will dry to touch in 2 hours at 0.25 inch coating thickness. Full
cure will develop in about 24 hours. Cure is dependent on
temperature and humidity conditions.
TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL RESISTANCE
Temperature Resistance Typical Values
Continuous, C (F) -54 to 204 (-65 to 400)
Intermittent, C (F) -54 to 260 (-65 to 500)
Chemical / Solvent Resistance
The product retains effective properties in contact with
automotive fluids, such as motor oil, transmission fluids,
alcohol and antifreeze solutions.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen
and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected as
a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.
